Leslie A.M. Coray
Although Leslie Coray's profession is the care of patients with spinal-cord injuries, that is only a part of her multifaceted day. She also runs a registered Paint horse breeding and training facility. To begin at the beginning, she was born in the Bay Area and grew up in San Diego and Palo Alto. She was educated at the College of Notre Dame, Belmont, Calif., and at Lane Community College, Eugene, Ore. The center of her life today is her ranch in Lowell, Ore., where animals of many species are in charge. San Gabriel Mountain rosy boas, for example, compete with the horses in her breeding stock. In past years she has helped organize the City of Lowell's annual Blackberry Jam community festival and is one of the founders of its now-annual Powwow. She has taught kids Aikido and currently participates in Native American culture classes. She and her horses also enjoy going to poker rides and horse shows around Oregon, as well as building and exploring new horse trails with Oregon Equestrian Trails.
