CMUG Announcement

The CMUG Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization as of August 31, 2022.

The Corvallis Macintosh Users Group (CMUG) was formed in 1984 by an energetic group of Macintosh computer enthusiasts. It soon became one of the most active and well-known Macintosh user groups in the country. At one time CMUG’s membership exceeded 1,100, including many members from other states and overseas.

In addition, CMUG has worked with various community organizations over the years to provide refurbished computers and other Apple devices to disadvantaged students who otherwise would not have had access to these tools. This was made possible by the generosity of CMUG members who donated their used devices and to several of our members who gave their time and talents to repair these devices.

Mouse Droppings, the group’s monthly newsletter, was widely recognized by many other MUGs as one of the best. Originally mailed to members, it had been, more recently, distributed digitally with colorful illustrations and live links to various resources.

CMUG’s private email Help-List, the place our members go to ask questions and get help from fellow members, will remain open to current subscribers for the time being.

We would like to sincerely thank all of you who have supported CMUG for these many years. It has been a privilege to have been involved with this extraordinary organization.
